The parish community is constantly in need of people who are motivated by gratitude to step up and help us be the community God is calling us to be.
In the following months I will continue to thank those who are stepping forward and add things that are needed. (If I leave groups or people out - please remind me!!)

Heathcote Church Cleaners: Thanks to those who responded to that call last year.
Lenten Discussion group leaders: Thanks to all who have taken on this service during Lent.
Young Married Ministry - 7 new Support Couples: 6 new participant couples
Direct Giving Campaign - 6 people have come forward to assist in promotions week-ends 6/7 March;13/14 March
Catechists - 2 people have come forward
Sacramental Preparation for Public School Children: Thanks to the new co-ordinator and admin person in this important ministry. Thanks to the two people who have offered to lead the Confirmation preparation, and the person who is looking after the Penance and Eucharist preparation.
Sacramental Preparation - 10th Feb. 2 people participated in presentations
'Sacramental Team' 9-11 People have come forward to help the children and families.
SJB Caring Group - 10 People have stepped forward to be involved in this Ministry
Parish Liturgy Committee - Thanks to a person who accepted a call to be part of this ministry.
Sharing of Faith at Sunday Liturgies: Thanks to those who have shared aspects of their faith and lives at Parish Masses when asked to give lived examples of God's message from Scripture. Over Jan and Feb. 6 people shared aspects of their faith journeys.
Thanks to a member of the parish who is involved in the Audio Visual field and has volunteered to be a consultant for us in this field regards the new primary school hall.

During 2010, I will be asking for help in the above and other areas - I encourage you to pray to ask God to guide you to ways you can contribute and make a difference.
To the faithful people in ministries that are foundational to our parish, 'thanks' for your 'yes' over so many years.
I also acknowledge the following growth during 2009.

Start of the Year 09: Thanks to the 2 people who said yes to supporting those who completed the previous year RCIA. They developed a program and supported that group of people throughout the year.
Mid-year 09. There was a call for Acolytes - thanks to the 4 new ones who said yes. This ministry continues to need more people willing to serve in supporting the priest and the community around the sacraments.
Mid-year 09. Thanks to those who have joined together to form a team to run the family masses each month.
Aug 09. Thanks to the 50 + young people who accepted the call to alter serve.
Aug 09. Thanks to all those who said yes to support the RCIA program for 2009-2010. Thanks to those who said yes to the call to be sponsors.
Sept 09. There was a call for 3 new members to join the Parish pastoral council - thanks to the 3 people who said yes to that call.
Sept 09 . Thanks to the group of people who have accepted the call to explore stewardship - they have been meeting regularly and exploring it for themselves and possibilities for the parish.
Sept./Nov 09 Thanks to the people who heard a call to prayer - and invited others to share in that.
To the organizers and the participants of the centering prayer group on Monday mornings, and the Taize group on Mondays during lent, thanks for saying 'yes'.
Oct/Nov 09. To those who heard a call and said 'yes' to work at starting up a new family group to support young families and is looking to engage others to this supportive ministry.
Oct/Nov 09. There was a call for more people on the Baptismal teams. 4 new couples responded to that call - thank you. Again there continues to be a need for more people to serve young families via that ministry.
Oct/Nov 09. There was a need for two new people to replace people on the JPV Advisory Committee that steers and guides our village. Thank you to the 2 new members who said yes to that call.
Thanks to the person who stepped forward to co-ordinate the state school sacramental programs.
Oct/Nov 09. Thanks to the 3 families who have accepted the call to run 'God-start' (a program to reach out to young families when their children have been baptised and starting kinder)
Dec 09. Thanks for all the people who helped with the Christmas masses!!! From musicians, to singers, to servers, to Acolytes, to preparing the environment (crib, banners, etc and the oval), to practicing with the children and guiding them through the children's mass.
Dec 09. Thanks to the group who said 'yes' to cleaning the Church linen now that Sr Esperanza is unable to help.
Dec 09. Thanks to the two new people who stepped forward to take on the co-ordinating of the 2010 Lenten groups.
Dec 09. Thanks to Matt Humphreys who stepped forward to take on the Youth Ministry co-coordinator in our parish!
