Mission and Vision Statement

and Parish Plan

2010 to 2012

September 2010

St. John Bosco Parish (Engadine and Heathcote Church Centers)

·                    Mission and Vision Statement 2010 – 2012

·                    Pastoral Plan

Our Mission

St John Bosco Parish strives to be a welcoming faith community, committed to spiritual, pastoral and educational growth. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the Church, and based on the charism of St John Bosco and the spirit of St Francis de Sales, we endeavour to reach beyond our regular worshipping community.

The charism of St John Bosco is to create communities that have the following characteristics:

·               a home that welcomes

·               a parish that evangelises

·               a school that prepares for life

·               a playground where friends can meet and share.

Our Vision

By the end of 2012 the members of St John Bosco Parish will strive to be:

·                an enlivened faith community which walks with Christ and His Church to strengthen faith and live it in a variety of ways;

·                aware of the presence of Christ, especially through liturgical celebrations and nourished by the power of Christ in the Sacraments;

·                a community fostered and developed through Parish Ministry Groups working together;

·                a place where youth is valued, challenged, nurtured, and involved in parish life;

·                part of a community seeking to undertake new initiatives for the benefit of the whole parish; and,

·                involved in a continual process of evaluation and response to changing needs as they arise.
