Laudito Si

“Laudato Si'
In June this year Pope Francis released his latest Encyclical, Laudato Si' (Care for our Common Home). The media has focussed on the climate change aspect of it, but it's about much more than that.   On Sunday November 22 our parish is having an afternoon of reflection and discussion on the Encyclical.  There will be two prominent speakers:

1.       Father Peter Smith, Justice and Peace Promoter, Justice and Peace Office, Sydney. The Justice and Peace Office is an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. The Justice and Peace Office promotes justice, peace, ecology and development through projects and activities based on the social teachings of the Catholic Church. Fr Peter is highly regarded and recognised in this field. See http://justiceandpeace.org.au/home/about-us/ and

2.       Jacqui Remond. Jacqui is the Director of Catholic Earthcare Australia. She is a passionate advocate and an official spokesperson for the Church on Laudato Si’. http://catholicearthcare.org.au/ecological-encyclical/

This is also an opportunity to hear and share your own responses to this important document that has attracted international attention in the broader community. Please join us to find out how Laudato Si' fits in with our faith. Registrations after all masses on the weekends of 7/8 and 14/15 November.  Copies of the Encyclical will be on sale at these times ($12.95). Fay and David Hair 0407 917040
