Laudato Si

“Laudato Si'
In June 2015 Pope Francis released his Encyclical, Laudato Si' (Care for our Common Home). The media has focussed on the climate change aspect of it, but it's about much more than that.   On Sunday November 22 our parish had an afternoon of reflection and discussion on the Encyclical.  There were two prominent speakers:

1.       Father Peter Smith, Justice and Peace Promoter, Justice and Peace Office, Sydney. The Justice and Peace Office is an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. The Justice and Peace Office promotes justice, peace, ecology, and development through projects and activities based on the social teachings of the Catholic Church.  See http://justiceandpeace.org.au/home/about-us/ and

2.       Jacqui Remond. Jacqui is the Director of Catholic Earthcare Australia. She is a passionate advocate and an official spokesperson for the Church on Laudato Si. http://catholicearthcare.org.au/ecological-encyclical/

People heard and shared their own responses to this. Please continue to find out how 'Laudato Si'  fits in with our faith.
