1. A commitment to prayer
Prayer is a way of
communicating with God. We can pray at any time during the day or night and can
pray in many different ways, such as saying a silent personal prayer, saying a
prayer with others, saying a prayer at mass, singing a prayer etc. A simple form
of prayer is giving thanks to God and asking for something you need.
Discuss: Is it possible to have a close relationship with each other without talking to each other? To have a close relationship to God you need to pray regularly. You are asked to make a commitment to praying at least once a day. This is to be recorded on the following page. As a reflection on prayer you are invited to write down two prayers that you have said each week. If you already pray once a day or more, consider other ways to be with God during the day, or the content of what happens during prayer time. If you are struggling in prayer, talk to God about this and ask for God’s help. Exploring Regular Prayer Make a commitment to pray at least once per day for the duration of the program.
